| Studied History of Art at Essex University, 1976-79 and Goldsmiths College, 1980-81. His thesis was on the INDEPENDENT GROUP at the INSTITUTE OF CONTEMPORARY ARTS (1952-54), researched under tutors Dawn Ades and Joseph Rykwert. | |||
| He has been working in the field of ART IN PUBLIC SPACES since 1983 as independent commissions agent, curator and private gallery owner. In 1984 he joined the ART & ARCHITECTURE SOCIETY (A&A) where he met Theo Crosby who invited him to become part of the A&A management team (1984-2005). | |||
| He has been editing the ART & ARCHITECTURE JOURNAL (A&AJ) since 2001 (co-editor since 1997) and writes for other publications: The A&AJ was relaunched as an independent magazine in February 2005, with funding support from Art Council England, to provide professional information and intelligence in the fields of public art - urbanism - architecture. | |||
| He organized the first National Public Art Conference, 'The Great Artistic Metropolis' in November 2005 and is preparing a Directory of Public Art in Europe. | |||
